Things you should consider to bring before moving into JAIST
Here is some things that you should know before moving into JAIST:
1, Wireless router
Wireless Router is very important in JAIST dorms because the wireless signal of JAISTALL is very weak to be received in the student dorm as well as in the guest house.
2, Electrical adapters/converters:
Since, Japan plug is type A, you should bring plug adapters from your own country.
3, Electrical Outlet:

If you have many electrical devices, it would be useful to bring outlet extension for all of your devices.
Although you can order all of above items on Amazon.jp, it would be cheaper to bring from your home country.

JAIST Shuttle bus
One of my favorite things in JAIST is that JAIST provides 3 free lines shuttle bus to essential locations. Bus stops and path are showed in embedded map below:
1, Tsurugi line
The shuttle bus takes about 13 minutes from JAIST to Tsurugi station. You can find detail and updated timetable of the shuttle bus in the following link from JAIST:
http://www.jaist.ac.jp/misc/jaibus/
Or detail timetable for each stop: PDF
Video from Youtube: JAIST Shuttle Bus
2, Komatsu Station & Komatsu Airport
The shuttle bus to Komatsu Airport has stopped operating since 2016/03/27.
Since, each bus is available every 2 hours (day time), the two buses require you to reserve seats 2 hours in advance, using your student/staff account in this link:
https://www.jaist.ac.jp/jaist_sds/reserve/index.php
You can find more detail about these two lines in this file:
http://www.jaist.ac.jp/cb3/manual_en.pdf
TIP: You should reverse both your depart time and your return time.
